Located in southern Latvia's Semigallia plains, Rundāle Palace is an architectural masterpiece of Baroque and Rococo art. Built as a summer residence for Ernst Johann von Biron, Duke of Courland, the palace was designed by the renowned Italian-Russian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, who also designed Russia's Winter Palace in St. Petersburg.
